OREM, UTAH COMPANY CREATES iPHONE APPS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE
Juicy Development aims to entertain while informing and assisting the public.
Since its debut in 2007, the Apple iPhone has consistently dominated the innovation of smartphone technology. With over 30,000 applications in 20 categories now available from the iTunes store, it's easy to overlook utility in favor of flash. Juicy Development has combined the two with Police Scanner, currently the #1 Top Paid App in the Medical category. Now they want to help the folks who protect and serve the rest of us.
A once cumbersome process involving bulky, expensive equipment and limited range has been streamlined to bring police scanner frequencies to anyone with an iPhone or an iPod Touch. For $2.99, "On Call" volunteer firefighters, news crews, emergency responders and anyone else can now listen in (but not broadcast) on police, fire and EMS activities across the country.
"We even get calls from spouses of emergency responders who thank us for giving them the ability to hear what's really going on with their loved ones, anytime from anywhere," says David Kyle, Product Manager for Juicy Development.
With the upcoming software update release, David Kyle wants to help police and fire municipalities who lack the resources and expertise to stream their frequencies. By donating thousands of dollars worth of technology and time, Juicy Development hopes to add more cities to its list of service areas because real-time access to emergency broadcasts can literally mean the difference between life and death. Interested parties, especially emergency response teams and newsrooms, are encouraged to contact David Kyle for assistance.
Juicy Development LLC was founded in 2008 to develop applications for the Apple iPhone, Google Android, and other mobile markets.
